Western esotericism
Western esotericism is a wide range of loosely related ideas and movements that developed within Western society. These ideas and currents are united since they are largely distinct both from orthodox Abrahamic religion and Age of Enlightenment rationalism.
Various academics have debated numerous definitions of Western esotericism. One definition views Western esotericism as encompassing all of Western culture’s “rejected knowledge” that is accepted neither by the scientific establishment nor orthodox religious authorities. (More on Wikipedia.)
Rationality
Rationality is the quality of being guided by or based on reason. In this regard, a person acts rationally if they have a good reason for what they do, or a belief is Rational if it is based on strong evidence. (More on Wikipedia.)
