I come from a secular, capitalist, science-influenced culture. I am more comfortable with “truths” framed in the language of theoretical science. I am influenced by diasporic Irish Catholicism. There are strong Protestant and Southern Baptist and right-wing Catholicism influences proximal to my stance, influencing my arguments. I am friendly to New Age and Wiccan beliefs. I like Buddhist philosophy. I like rebelling against the limits of provable science and nihilistic materialism by embracing ambiguous philosophy.
I am not immune to biases and limitations of the above. I am not unique in my search for Truth. I inherit the questions of the past. I will not find Truths “they” could not before my time, but I may participate in building humanity’s canon of Truth for the benefit of those to come.
I am no more “right” than others, even those I disagree with. Everyone is operating in the belief system resulting from their experiences, just like me.
Everyone seeking Truth sincerely will arrive at Truth regardless of the path.
- “Truth” is simply what is the actual condition of reality. Truth is absolute and not subjective in this usage (capital-T Truth).
- Buddha did not ask people to seek him, but to seek Truth.
- I probably can’t recognize my own Glass Pianos.
